Floyd Middle School Weekly Update
Dear Floyd
Families
This School start in 100% digital learning is new for all of us.
CTLS Help- This is not the digital learning that was done in the
spring. The platform will be uniformed
from teacher to teacher. There is a daily schedule for students starting at
12pm. There will be attendance and graded assignments. Please help your student
the best you can.
Everything
that you need concerning the CTLS platform is on our website now for your
use. There are videos, one page cheat
sheets, Frequently asked questions, links and etc. Please check it our website and look at the
information now. Practice logging in.
Watch the videos. You have to help us by
look at the help information created for you. Keep checking our websites for
updates.
Our Front
office staff will be answering the phone lines everyday. However, we still can’t
have visitors in the building. Please be patient and leave a voicemail we will
return your call.
Devices –
We know that everyone that requested a device does not have one right
now. We have currently distributed all of the devices that we had available at
Floyd. I promise you that we are not hiding any. The School district is purchasing more and
sending more to us. When those devices
come, we will distribute those devices.
However if your name is not on the wait list ,we can not guarantee you
will have a device. We have to know you
need a device before we can secure a device for you. Because we had limited numbers of devices to
start out with, we had to maximize the number of households who can access the
digital learning. This is why we only gave 1 device per household to start. However, we placed all request on our waiting
list and will make all receive devices requested.
Instruments - If you are in 7th or 8th grade band
and you used a school instrument last year, You may pick up your instrument on Wednesday August 19th
from 1pm-3pm from the back band room door. Also if you are in 8th
grade Orchestra , you may pick up your instruments at this time as well.
Patience-
Families I am asking
for your patience as we move through this unknown. Patience with the school.
Patience with your teachers. Patience with your students. Patience with
yourself. WE will all get through this
together. We will all make mistakes. We will all be frustrated. This is new to
ALL of us. However, we are working our very best to make sure that ALL of our
students get the best education that we can give. Next week we will not penalize students if
they have tech issues or make mistakes with the digital platform. As you extend patience and grace to us, we
are extending that same patience and grace to our students and to you. There is
a great chance there will be massive technical issues with the platform next
week as the whole district logs on at the same time. Do your best. As you
figure things out share information that you have with other parents who need
help. We are all TEAM FLOYD Middle school. We are here to help you! We will get
through this . TEAM FLOYD Middle school versus the World!! We can do this
together.
