Hello Proud Patriot Family . This is  Patriot #1 Dr. Hosey.  I am calling you with your Pitner Weekly Update. Every week I will give the important things that you need to know for the upcoming school week.  Here are the things you need to know for the week of August 29th-Sept. 2:

  • Thanks for supporting Back to School Bash on Friday at Stars and Strikes. We hope you and your family had a great time.
  •  Carpool reminder. In the morning parents please be patient in car pool line. Please do not drop off students on Wade Green road.  Please do not block the intersection and do not drop students off in the bus port. 
  • Thank you again to our Pitner FBI Dads for their help with Carpool line each Friday morning.
  • Thank you for helping our student participate in our College Day on Friday! Please go to my blog to see some of the photos from the day.
  • Parents we are entering the 5th week of school and hopefully your student has settled into good study habits , school routines, and daily expectations.  Please remember to ask your student how their day was and what happen great at school each day.
  • Please have a discussion with your student about making good choices and their behavior when they are not in structured academic time such the bus ride to and from school, in the cafeteria during lunch and breakfast  and on the playgrounds.
  • The Front Office at Pitner closes at 3:30pm.  There will not be someone to answer the door. Please pick your students up in the back bus port for clubs and ASP.
  • At the end of this week we will have a little break as we celebrate the official end to summer with our Labor weekend holiday. School will be closed on Monday September 5th.
  • PTSA membership forms will be sent home next week for another opportunity to   become a member of the PTSA. It's never too late! 
  • The Next PTA event will be Guston’s Grille Spirit Night at the Wade Green Road Location  September 15th.

Congratulations Dr. Caracelo!!!

Today we celebrate and congratulate Ms. Caracelo on becoming Dr. Caracelo this weekend ! We are so proud of her!! Students and staff wrote congrats notes on her door and outside her classroom !!

Pitner College Day!

August 26th was the kickoff for College Football season so Pitner Celebrated College day!
Our halls were filled with Owls, Spartans, Yellow Jackets, Bulldawgs, Volunteers, Gamecocks, Hurricanes, Buckeyes, Gators, War Eagles and Seminoles!

Weekly Phone Blast 8/22 Transcript


Hello Proud Patriot Family . This is your new Patriot #1 Dr. Hosey.  I am calling you with your Pitner Weekly Update. Every week I will give the important things that you need to know for the upcoming school week.  Here are the things you need to know for the week of August 22nd – 26th:

 

  • School Photos will happen this week! Picture day for k-2 are Tuesday August 23 and 3-5 are Wednesday Aug 24th.  Forms for photo packages have already been sent home with students. Photos sells are an important fundraiser for our school. Please consider purchasing a photo package for your student for your family because it also to support Pitner.
  •  Back to School Bash is on Friday August 26th from 6-8 at Stars and Strikes . The cost is $10 for each PTA member $12 for non members. Admission price includes 1 hour of bowling, 1 hour game card and shoe rental. Please turn in your form by August 22.
  • As a kickoff to the official start of College Football season, Pitner will have College Day August 26th . We encourage your student to wear their favorite college or your favorite college tshirt  or team colors on Friday. Our teachers will also share fun college facts about the colleges they attended. It is never too early to start our Patriots thinking about college.
  • There are many career opportunities with the Cobb County school district. Currently our district is in need of Bus Drivers and Substitutes teachers.  If you are interested in these employment opportunities, please visit the Cobb County School District website. If you are interested in being a sub at Pitner please contact us.
  • Our first test email blast is scheduled to go out on Monday at 12pm.  This email blast will contain the first test issue of a school newsletter for parents.  You will only receive this email blast if your email information is correct in the county blackboard system. Please let us know if you like it and if it is useful. Our goal is to communicate with you frequently and many different ways.
  • The Principal’s page on our website will be updated soon with my current contact information, social media sites and my principal’s blog.  On my blog I will post a written transcript of each Sunday’s call out message.

This is PNN.


PNN is the Patriot News Network. It is the morning broadcast at Pitner which highlights the morning announcements . The PNN crew is made of 5th graders. There is a differs crew for each day ( anchors, reporters,& camera crews)They conduct the morning pledge, give lunch menu choices, character words ,
weather for the day, sports updates, fun facts , even a joke of the day on Friday. Even Patriot #1 joins in! PNN starts every morning at 7:45am.

Introducing the Safety Patrol!!

The Pitner Safety Patrol has been activated for the new school. The student safety patrol monitors the hallways in the morning and assists students and visitors.  Go Patriot Safety Patrol!!!

Hello Proud Patriot Family . This is your new Patriot #1 Dr. Hosey.  I am calling you with your Pitner Weekly Update. Every week I will give the important things that you need to know for the upcoming school week.  Here are the things you need to know for the week of August 15th-19th:

  • Thank you for attending our first Open House for the school year. We love partnering with parents to support our Patriot students. Please contact your student’s teacher if you have questions or missed information.
  • Our First PTSA Pitner Spirit Night  will be on Friday August 19th at Jumping World on Wade Green. 4-8pm.Please come out and have fun with your family and support Pitner PTSA.
  • After 7:45 pm your student is tardy . You must park your car and come into the school to sign them in. Remember students are Never late when they ride the bus.
  • ASP Pickup is now in the back of the school in the bus port. You  can turn into the bus port at the light and not have to make the uturn on Wade Green.
  • All visitors to our campus must be buzzed in. In order to be buzzed into Pitner: you must state your name, your business, and show your id.  Once buzzed in , you must go immediately into the front office and sign in.  Please help us with these protocols as we are trying to make our school as safe and secure as possible.
  • If your child is under 8 years old and rides a bus , you must be visible at the bus stop in order for the bus driver to allow your student to exit the bus. If the bus driver can not see you , your student will be returned to the school.
  • Also  please speak with your student about good bus behavior to and from school. Good bus behavior is important to bus safety. We do not want our drivers distracted by bad behavior.
  • I encourage you to stay connected to your school. My goal is to give you information and updates using various methods. Please update your contact information in Blackboard connect. I will be sending out a test email blast within the week to emails on record.  You can also follow me on twitter for daily weather report , daily motivation and highlights from our school day.
  • A big Shout out to our FBI Fathers who helped in the car rider line on last Friday! Thank you Patriot Dads!!
